The Regimental title was changed to the Essex Yeomanry in 1908 although the role remained the same. In 1921 the Regiment was converted to Artillery, serving in various Field, Horse and Medium Artillery roles. The Regiment was placed into suspended animation in 1967 and reformed in 1969 as a Signals Squadron.
