Buying

There are many dealers and auction houses that will stock a range of the badges shown on this site.  Happy hunting for your collection!

Please, do not approach the Signal Squadron, Cadets, Band or Essex Yeomanry Association as they do not have spares of the badges shown here.

At any time I personally have a small number of spares and I have listed these on this site – also badges that I am looking for.  If you can help or if there’s anything of interest please do contact me.

Beware!

Fortunately, there aren’t many fake and reproduction items made for the badges of the Regiment, the ones shown on this site are all genuine examples.  The dimensions, type of fixing and, in some cases, maker marks can help to confirm genuine items and identify fakes and reproductions.  If you want to know more on that, please buy my book which covers this in much more detail – and all proceeds go to the EY Association charity.  Here are some examples though as a “rogue’s gallery” of items that were never approved or worn by the Regiment:

King’s Crown scrolled badge.

Left: genuine badge.

Right: Reproduction version made in brass with incorrect crown and scroll.

KK1493 GM
Essex Yeomanry KK1493 reproduction cap badge
King’s crown beret badge.

If the shank has a GAUNT B’HAM stamp it is a 1970s restrike. The genuine badge has a plain shank.
